Atlântida Pier

Atlântida Pier is a surf spot located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in the municipality of Xangri-lá, near the resort town of Atlântida. The spot is known for its T-shaped pier and sandy bottom. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. The best surf conditions are usually found with swells from the south, southeast, northeast, and especially east, and with winds from the west, southwest, south, and northwest. The length of the ride is generally less than 50 meters. The surf here is regular, and the spot is suitable for all levels, but it is important to check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. During the summer, the area can get crowded, so respect the locals and always check the surf etiquette when the spot is busy. Be aware of strong rips and undertow, especially near the pier, and pay attention to fishing nets in the water between April and November, as they can be long and hard to see. There have been accidents in the area due to these nets and strong currents. If you surf close to the pier, watch out for the pillars, which have mussels attached that can cause injuries. On the left side of the pier, you can find long right-handers, while the right side has a stone bank formed by a collapsed pier arm, creating strong waves that can connect to the inside, but be careful as debris may be exposed at low tide.
